CONCOURS 3D – Ophélie Utri, INCUBATEUR 2019
Henri is a small, modular storage unit that can be used alone or stacked as a bookshelf. With no doors or drawers, it is as basic and essential as the skills used to make it by the apprentice craftsmen who do everything from cutting the wood to inserting the final screw.
Henri is made in our Lyon training workshop out of discarded chipboard panels from factories (the box) and MDF scraps from craftsmen’s workshops (the painted pieces).
It is named after Henri Grouès, better known as “Abbé Pierre”, founder of the Emmaus Movement in 1949. He was convinced that “Looking to others rather than oneself is how we can explain the world”.
