La Psyché
The first piece in the new algorithmic collection, Psyche, takes inspiration from the great Art Deco designers, such as Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann, Eugène Printz and Pierre Chareau, who combined functionality, geometric precision and precious materials.
Its curious, unbalanced equilibrium emerged from Véra, an algorithmic system devised by the authors following two years of formal and technical research. It is named after Vera Molnár, a pioneering artist in the field of generative art.
Psyche conveys a powerful conceptual irony: an artificial system has created a mirror that reflects our own image back to us. This object, which enables us to contemplate ourselves, becomes a medium for reflecting on our relationship with technology and identity. Who is looking at whom? Crafted with care by the people who made it, Psyche embodies the potential dialogue between machine, material, and gesture.
